Darryl Whittington, Ted Williams, Ken Clark, Neil Turner, Mark Creech, Doug Lane and Paul Whittington are some of the many volunteers who built a church for a community in the Dominican Republic this week.
I was a little giddy when, after a predawn cab ride, a 4-hour bus ride, and a fantastical, exciting tour of banana fields in a minivan with 19 (yes, 19) other people, I arrived at the new First Baptist Church of Boruco.
"Hello Americans!" I shouted to the crews from Kansas City, Florida and Whiteville.
They pretty much had the church finished, and I hung around for photos and videos, which I'll post soon, maybe after I return from Haiti. What a day!
