The News Reporter in Whiteville, N.C. published a photo page, an article and a column on Moldova. The article describes the unique and comprehensive relationship that Tarheels have had with Moldova for nearly two decades.
Here are some more links with information on Moldova and the Peace Corps.
August 16, 2017 - Chișinau, Moldova - Moldova welcomed 52 Peace Corps volunteers today at ASEM University in Chișinau. U.S. Ambassador to Moldova James D. Pettit led the group as they took the same oath as do U.S. presidents. Then, two Moldovan deputy prime ministers and a secretary of state addressed the new volunteers. A dozen volunteers had learned traditional Moldovan dances and they performed them to close the ceremony.
Photos of Ungheni sculptures have been processed more than usual, for depth-of-field, color saturation and light.

June 4, 2017 - Varatic, Moldova - So, another Peace Corps project came to a close this weekend with the opening ceremony of the rebuilt soccer stadium in the village of Varatic, a beautiful place, on a branch of the Prut River near Romania.
Anyway, I'm really proud of what these people did. My project was just to apply for a grant to cover the old concrete bleachers with a new surface and add about 250 of those those plastic stadium seats that are ubiquitous here. But the mayor, Orthodox priest and other volunteers really took charge, and expanded on the project. They found donors to pay for another 104 seats, got the national soccer (okay, fotbal) league to donate a caged practice field with artificial turf, and they rounded up playground equipment, fencing, lighting and cameras, all for a safe place where students and adults can train and play sports.
Great job Alexandru Crigan with Localinvest, Varatic Mayor Motelica Dumitru, Father Ghennedy Dascal and all the volunteers who worked so hard for this new jewel of Varatic!

November 26, 2016 - Rîșcani, Moldova - A great group of students here are working hard to bring a recycling program to their schools, and to improve their natural environment. They held a "flash mob" with dancing in the street to promote recycling and ecology.
October 31, 2016 - Rîșcani, Moldova - Peace Corps English-language volunteers, Logan Hulsey and Katrina Broughman helped students at their schools celebrate Halloween, in a traditional Moldovan way, with games, contests, dancing and fun!
June 24, 2016 - Rîșcani, Moldova - Peace Corps volunteer James Buchanan of Texas helped build an accessible playground at his NGO, the Phoenix Centre here. For the grand opening, children cut a ribbon and played games. Congratulations, James!
May 25-26, 2016 - Ungheni, Moldova - PC Volunteer Carla Peterson invited me to Ungheni last month, to photograph the beautiful collection of sculptures installed throughout the city's downtown area. I could have (and should have?) spent days photographing these, but spent less than a day, and am presenting the city with a portfolio they should be able to use for tourism marketing, etc., or just to look at; simple photos of beautiful art. Here are some.
May 24, 2016 - Straseni, Moldova - Fellow Peace Corps volunteer Heidi Parker invited me to her post in Straseni to photograph residents and patrons of the Neoumanists senior facility. She also asked me to photograph the beautiful tourist cabins the organization there uses for fundraising -- and the wonderful folks there let me stay in one of those cabins! I really enjoyed my stay here and am excited about how the project came out.
October 23, 2015 - Corlateni, Moldova - Fellow PC volunteer Katrina Broughman helped organize a Halloween party at her school in Corlateni, about a half-hour away from me. Halloween is not celebrated much here - no trick or treating, and not many costume parties, really, unless an American organizes one. Great job, Katrina!
October, 2015 - Chișinau, Moldova - North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, left, renews the state’s unique partnership program with the Republic of Moldova during a trip to the Eastern European country. Marshall's ceremony with Moldovan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur took place after a signing ceremony with the Moldovan Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet.

August 18-19, 2015 - M29 Mid-Service Training, Criuleni, Moldova - I joined the M29s for their grueling training retreat along the Nistru River in eastern Moldova for a short photography class. I really enjoyed it, and I hope they gained skills they can carry forward. Loved shooting the pool party!

The Turneu de Volei in Budesti went very well,
with enthusiastic teams from that village, Costesti and Magdacesti.
I took a heap of photographs, and have divided them into three groups.
